Grupo Brisas Inaugurates Galería Plaza León, a new benchmark in Mexican hospitality

Grupo Brisas inaugurates Galería Plaza León, its second hotel in the state of Guanajuato and its 12^th in Mexico. The 700-million-peso investment solidifies its position as a leading tourism consortium, offering unparalleled comfort, cutting-edge technology, and top-tier services.

At the inauguration ceremony for the new 176-room property on Manuel J. Clouthier Boulevard, near Leon’s financial center and main attractions, Antonio Cosío Pando, Grupo Brisas CEO, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to Guanajuato. This involves more investment, jobs and tourism for Mexicans, with a focus on promoting investment, job creation and boosting tourism.

“We are dedicated to continued investment in Mexico to drive economic growth, create jobs and create new tourism experiences that showcase the warm hospitality of the Mexican people,” said Mr. Cosío Pando when addressing state and municipal authorities, as well as representatives of the state’s business sector.

Over the past 24 years, the proudly Mexican Grupo Brisas has successfully expanded its operations to nine states across the country, with its three leading brands: NIZUC Resort & Spa, Las Brisas, and Galería Plaza, which collectively represent 12 hotels in major cities and beach destinations across the country, with a total of over 3,300 rooms in operation.

Grupo Brisas has two properties in Guanajuato, offering a combined total of over 300 rooms. The recently opened Galería Plaza León features 176 modern and elegant rooms, while the Galería Plaza Irapuato, which opened in October 2018, boasts 138 rooms.

Mr. Cosío Pando made note of the economic benefits of the new hotel, including the creation of approximately 1,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction and more than 100 jobs during operation. Additionally, 40% of suppliers are based in León and surrounding areas, supporting local economic growth.
