First round of military aircraft announced for EAA Airventure 2022

With the first fullscale party planned since the pandemic and the Air Force celebrating 75 years, you know it’s going to be a big year at Oshkosh for EAA Airventure. Already, we are learning about some of the military planes and helicopters that will be there.

Early commitments to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2022 include the following on ground display, with some performing during the daily air shows as well:

• C-5 Galaxy

• C-17 Globemaster III

• F-16 Fighting Falco

• KC-46 Pegasus

• HH-60 Pavehawk

• AH-64 Apache

• UH-60 Blackhawk

• MH-47 Chinook

• AH-6 Little Bird

• T-38 Talon

Many more military aircraft, for both ground display and aerial demonstrations, are expected to be added, EAA organizers say.

“Displays and aerial performances of current military aircraft are always among the most popular parts of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh each year, for aviation enthusiasts and the public,” said Rick Larsen, EAA’s vice president of communities and member programs, who coordinates AirVenture features and attractions. “This is just the start, as we expect to list of military aircraft to grow as we approach AirVenture’s opening day, especially in support of the Air Force’s 75th anniversary in 2022.”

The 69th edition of the Experimental Aircraft Association’s fly-in convention is July 25-31 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
