Eagle Aviation under new ownership
Eagle Aviation, one of the oldest FBOs nationwide, is under new ownership. Lee Thomas, a longtime employee and experienced member of the industry, acquired Eagle on April 1, becoming the second owner since 1967.
Thomas is bringing over three decades of experience in the aviation industry to the job. He began his career in Valdosta, Georgia as a line service technician before moving to Auburn University as the assistant chief flight instructor. He joined Eagle Aviation in 1995, beginning as an aircraft sales researcher and eventually moving up to president. He will maintain his role as president and the current management team will also remain in place. Customers can expect the same level of care with the same management team and Thomas still at the helm.
“I am thrilled to be the new owner of Eagle Aviation,” Thomas said. “I started at Eagle straight out of Auburn. This is a fantastic company with wonderful employees and a great reputation in the aviation industry. My goal is to build on the company’s success and take it to new heights. We have an amazing team of professionals at Eagle, and I am confident we will achieve our objectives.”
With respect to the foundation already in place, Thomas will develop an experience to expand the business and retain existing customers due to the personal touch Eagle is known for. Renovations are underway, including a newly paved tarmac. The company was recently authorized as a Cirrus Vision Jet line-maintenance service center. The company is continuing to build its Cirrus and Cessna service centers. Eagle is also building its relationships with Garmin, Avidyne, AirText, Raisbeck, Blackhawk, Standard Aero, Prizm Lighting, Whelen Lighting and Berringer Brakes.
“Come check us out! We would love for you to visit and see our work firsthand,” Thomas said. “The changes are part of our broader plan for long-term achievement. The company will continue under the name of Eagle Aviation, which our customers recognize. They can continue to expect the same high-quality products and customer experience from us.”
