Embraer sees drop in deliveries for Q1 2022

Embraer released its first quarter 2022 results, delivering 14 jets over the first three months of the year, including six commercial and eight executive jets.

Executive jet deliveries included five Phenom 300s, two Praetor 600s, and one Phenom 100 jet.

The Brazilian manufacturer says its executive jet sales are continuing to grow in Q1 2022, which is evident as its backlog increased to $17.3 billion this quarter compared to $14.2 billion in the first quarter of 2021.

Despite the stronger backlog, Embraer’s first quarter 2022 executive jet deliveries were down from the 13 jets shipped in Q1 2021. Its commercial deliveries also fell from nine last year to six this quarter.

Last year, Embraer delivered 93 private jets and the company as a whole ended the fourth quarter with its highest quarter backlog since the second quarter of 2018.

Embraer says it is experiencing increasing demand for its aircraft, recently announcing a recruiting effort to fill more than 150 open positions at its Melbourne, Florida, facility.

Open positions include Assembly Technicians, A&P Technicians, Aircraft Painters, Quality Inspectors and Manufacturing Engineers.
